The All-New 2024 BMW i5: Overview & Highlights

The first update to note for the BMW 5 Series is that in 2024, BMW unveiled the BMW i5, the all-electric variant of the 5 Series. The BMW i5 is available in two versions – the i5 eDrive40, and the performance-oriented i5 M60. As a carrier of the proud “M” designation, the i5 M60 can output a massive 593 hp and accelerates up to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. 

And not to be outdone, the calmer, yet still powerful i5 eDrive40 outputs a respectable 335 ponies, and can cruise up to an estimated 295 miles on a single charge! So whether you want to burn rubber or need a reliable, high-end commuter, the BMW i5 can easily accommodate you. New Feature: Active Lane Change with Eye Activation

BMW has also introduced the world’s first Active Lane Change with eye activation capabilities. Essentially, a BMW 5 Series equipped with this feature will notify you and recommend a lane change to maintain your current speed. Then all you need to do is look at the left/right exterior mirror, and your 5 Series will shift lanes in the recommended direction! Combine this with the Highway Assistant that enables attentive hands-free driving up to 85 mph, and your new 2024 BMW 5 Series can practically drive itself through the highways near Eagle!
